Investment Banking Summer Analyst (Fully Remote)

Juniper is a leading independent investment banking firm dedicated to providing primarily not-for-profit institutions with high-quality M&A and other strategic financial advice. The company’s resources are concentrated exclusively on this business and the majority of engagements are with hospitals and health systems, as well as some universities. Juniper focuses on a select number of clients who seek the firm’s advice on issues including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other major elements of corporate strategy which typically receive consideration from clients’ boards of directors.

Description of Role

The paid internship is a 10-week virtual program that will introduce potential candidates to our business, clients, and professionals. Interns will work on strategic assignments assisting deal teams with mergers and acquisitions and other advisory services. There is an opportunity to extend the internship into the fall upon mutual agreement by both parties.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of M&A transactions for a wide range of healthcare services and academic entities across the country
  • Provide primary transaction support for bankers
  • Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financials
  • Perform financial modeling, including (but not limited to) company valuation and credit analysis
  • Develop and organize presentations, including pitchbooks, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other external or internal materials during client engagements
  • Assist in the marketing and planning of client engagements
  • Conduct industry and market research, and develop specific market and business reports
  • Attend board meetings and client meetings to interface with clients and better understand deals
  • Assist deal teams with other necessary day to day responsibilities

Qualifications

  • All Majors with a minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong computer skills and fluency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required
  • Financial modeling, written and verbal business communication, and project management skills as demonstrated through prior work experience
  • Related experience in healthcare, higher education, public sector finance, or M&A is preferable but not required
