Joseph Cerreta Interviewed in Becker’s Hospital Review’s “10 Key Healthcare Transaction Trends”

Joseph Cerreta was interviewed as part of Becker’s Hospital Review’s article “10 Key Healthcare Transaction Trends.” Joe was joined by other experts in the field of healthcare M&A to weigh in on the recent wave of hospital consolidation and what that might mean for hospital partnerships on a national scale in 2014 and beyond.

Commenting on the perceived level of market activity, Joe noted that it has been “somewhat inflated by the fact that hospital and health systems are being more transparent about exploring their strategic options than they were willing to admit publicly in the past.” He also reflected on the structure of the hospital industry itself, stating, “Even with the several ‘mega-mergers’ in 2013, the ten largest hospital systems combined still only account for between 15 percent and 20 percent of the total industry revenue.”
