UChicago Medicine Grows with Ingalls Health System
The University of Chicago Medicine, one of the nation’s leading academic medical institutions, has acquired Ingalls Health System, an integrated community health system located in Harvey, a south suburb of Chicago. Ingalls will become part of UChicago Medicine’s growing health system.
Through the partnership, UChicago Medicine will invest in Ingalls’ network of inpatient and outpatient facilities and will accelerate the enhancement of critical IT systems. Ingalls will also gain access to UChicago Medicine’s world-class physicians, clinical programs and medical research resources.

Juniper served as UChicago Medicine’s exclusive investment banking advisor for this transaction. Juniper worked with Management of UChicago Medicine to consider the growth opportunity and to develop and execute a proposal strategy which resulted in the selection of UChicago Medicine as Ingalls’ partner.
The University of Chicago Medicine
The University of Chicago Medicine is a leading academic medical institution comprised of the University of Chicago Medical Center, the Pritzker School of Medicine, the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division, numerous outpatient facilities and the University of Chicago Physicians Group, which employs approximately 900 physicians. The medical campus offers a wide range of specialty care services for adults and children through 40 institutes and centers, including the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Twelve Nobel Prize winners in physiology or medicine have been affiliated with UChicago Medicine.
Ingalls Health System
Ingalls is an integrated nonprofit community health system headquartered in the south Chicago suburb of Harvey. The system includes a 473-bed inpatient hospital, centers specializing in cancer, orthopedics and cardiac care, home care and hospice services, and a network of outpatient and urgent care centers throughout the south suburbs. The system employs more than 450 physicians across 30 medical and surgical specialties.
