Crestwood Medical Center Joins Huntsville Hospital Health System
Transaction Announcement
Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health) has completed its acquisition of Crestwood Medical Center and select related outpatient assets from an affiliate of Community Health Systems, Inc. This transaction brings Crestwood under local nonprofit ownership and represents a strategic step toward strengthening access to coordinated, community-based healthcare across North Alabama.
The acquisition includes Crestwood Medical Center, associated clinics, outpatient services, and a freestanding emergency department. With the transaction complete, Crestwood now becomes part of HH Health’s coordinated regional network, enhancing collaboration across hospitals and supporting improved access to care throughout the Huntsville and Madison County communities.

As part of Huntsville Hospital Health System, Crestwood Medical Center will continue operating under its existing name and identity, with no planned changes to services or physician relationships. The organizations are focused on maintaining continuity of care while pursuing opportunities to invest in technology, workforce, and care coordination to better serve patients across the region.
This transaction reflects a shared commitment to local decision-making, expanded access to care, and long-term healthcare stability as the Huntsville region continues to grow.
