Huntsville Hospital Health System to Acquire Crestwood Medical Center
Transaction Announcement
Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health) and an affiliate of Community Health Systems, Inc. have entered into a definitive agreement for HH Health to acquire Crestwood Medical Center and select related outpatient assets. The transaction represents a strategic step toward strengthening locally aligned healthcare delivery across the Huntsville area.
The acquisition is intended to enhance care coordination, align services across the community, and support long-term access to high-quality healthcare as the Huntsville region continues to experience sustained population growth. Crestwood’s hospital campus, freestanding emergency department, outpatient services, clinics, and certain ambulatory interests are included in the transaction.
The purchase price is $450 million, and the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory and closing conditions. Crestwood Medical Center will continue operating as usual through closing, with no immediate changes to patient care, medical staff privileges, or services.
