Regional Medical Center Announces Agreement to Join Orlando Health
Transaction Announcement
RMC Health System and the City of Anniston have entered into an agreement for Regional Medical Center to join Orlando Health, a private, not-for-profit healthcare system. The agreement represents a strategic step toward strengthening the long-term future of healthcare delivery across Northeast Alabama through expanded services, new investment, and access to the operational resources of a larger health system.
Regional Medical Center has served as a cornerstone of care for families across the region for decades. Through this partnership, Orlando Health is expected to invest significant resources to enhance facilities, technology, and clinical capabilities, supporting physician recruitment, expanding specialty services, and improving access to care throughout Northeast Alabama.
Under the agreement, Regional Medical Center will become part of Orlando Health’s Alabama Region. All current employees are expected to transition to Orlando Health at closing, with existing titles, pay, and years of service honored. Planned investments also include implementation of an electronic health record system and additional infrastructure improvements designed to strengthen long-term care delivery. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in fall 2026.
